Valarie's Pillow

Valarie got in touch through a friend to see if I could make a pillow out of a tiny little t-shirt. The pillow would be for her brand new baby's nursery.

The final product was pretty darn cute.

Valarie was thrilled. She wrote: "My grandfather made that t shirt for my brother and he wore it as a baby. But Pop Pop passed away when I was only six... so this shirt really means a lot to me. I know my mom is going to love it too :)"

The Krackle! was the front, the number and mini snap, krackle and pop were on the sleeves and the "Schneider" was on the back. I'm so glad I was able to incorporate the whole thing. I think it turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Here are wo quilts for Mary Pat's mom. Luckily for Mary Pat, who wants this project to be a surprise, her mother doesn't read this blog.

On my last trip up to Ballston Spa Mary Pat handed me a gargantuan bag full of t-shirts. There were so many, and they all had such different sized images on them that the only thing that made sense was to do two quilts.

Joy's T-Shirt Quilt

This is a T-Shirt Quilt with a very special T-Shirt in the center. It was so special, and so big, that I used it as four squares instead of just one. I did this by first repairing it (it was quite old and rather holey) and then I sewed it onto a piece of white flannel so that it would be big enough.

Kate's T-Shirt Quilt

This particular quilt has college T-shirts, and trip T-shirts (one is from the National Archives in D.C., one is from Boston, four are from France, two are from Savannah, GA, one is from Michigan, and two are from New York). I loved them, but didn't wear them anymore. They lived in my closet, in a box, on a shelf.

Now, I use this quilt all the time. It's great for a little extra warmth while watching TV, or reading a book, or snuggling with my kitty cat.
